John Pantazopoulos Officially Nominated as Ward 6 Candidate, Vows to Restore Calgary’s Promise of Opportunity
CALGARY, AB — John Pantazopoulos is one of the first out of the gate in the 2025 municipal election, officially filing his papers to represent Ward 6 on Calgary City Council.
A seasoned energy executive, entrepreneur, and former investment banker, Pantazopoulos also brings years of community advocacy to the table. He is the first candidate to secure official nomination status in Ward 6 and one of the earliest to do so across the city.
The Pantazopoulos campaign is focused on economic growth and thoughtful community development, with a core belief in balancing fiscal responsibility with compassion for those who need it the most.
“This election is about more than just filling an empty seat — it’s about getting Calgary back to being the city of opportunity it’s always been,” said Pantazopoulos. “I want Ward 6 to be a place where families feel secure, businesses can grow and neighbours look out for each other.”
“It’s about rolling up our sleeves, finding practical solutions, and making sure Calgary delivers on the promise it holds for everyone who calls this city home. I always have and always will believe in the Calgary Promise — the promise of a better tomorrow.”
Filing early in 2025, Pantazopoulos will dedicate the coming months to knocking on doors, attending community events and connecting directly with Ward 6 residents ahead of the Oct. 20, 2025, municipal election.
To become an officially nominated candidate in Calgary, individuals must collect at least 100 signatures from residents of their ward and complete a criminal record check.
John Pantazopoulos is available for interviews upon request.
